Dreaming Your Lives

Twenty years ago, I never would have imagined my life could be as it is now.  Things were more superficial seeming then or more accurately, I was more superficial then.  As many of us do for periods of our lives, I never even contemplated for long the fact that there are just more important things in this dream we refer to as life than the material and superficial.

Life has much deeper meaning than we give it.  It’s important to find our place in this world and create for ourselves the things that we most need to exist within the rules of this collective framework we believe in.  It is infinitely interesting to me how we dream asleep and create unconsciously until we are driven hard to our own core of existence and then we begin to awaken from the dreams of our unconscious creations.  We begin to question why we have dreamed the things we have dreamed up to a certain point and then we slowly begin to understand.  That’s when the dream gets more interesting.

We slowly tear things apart to understand and attempt to fully comprehend the meaning of life and the depths of the meaning in our own lives.  If we begin to fully awaken, we start to understand that duality and non-duality exists at so many levels and dimensions of our thinking.  We realize that our creations here, even our very bodies are a dense collection of thoughts that we created to exist in this frame.   If you desire to continue with your awakening in this dream, you begin to understand we exist at many levels and in various dimensions.  Thought, dimension, levels and existence can become amazing tools for self-discovery.  That IS what this existence is all about really…to understand self and through self, the loving nature of everything…the complementary existence of dark and light and the importance at all levels of keeping balance.

The more we embrace the paths of our own existence, the more we seem to want to search the world outside of ourselves for answers to questions that always lie there patiently waiting inside of our own hearts.  We’re not taught how to search.  Some of us find our ways there through various doorways.  We come face to face daily with judgment and labels and yet, we do not know what it is we hold.  Like a baby playing with a complex electronic toy, we dabble in our lives not understanding.  The beautiful thing about this dream is that when we begin to awaken and become aware that we are dreaming and then ask for assistance, it magically appears on the path through people and scenarios that make the dream richer and more colorful and sometimes even more painful just to get our attention.  So many things serve as the compass that lead us back home to ourselves and we just don’t know it.

If you hunger for true and lasting change, consider letting go of the superficial understanding of your existence.  Instead, embrace the path you’ve walked up to this point accepting the fact that you have done everything you have done to perfect your learning and awaken to understanding within this dream.  In your sleepy state, you have unconsciously created a number of things in your lives to help you awaken and understand.  Don’t regret one moment of any of your creations.  They were perfect for their time, key to your personal development and doorways to returning home to the hearts of you.  Everything that has happened in your life has purpose and meaning.  Every person has crossed your path for ultimately GOOD reason.  Every situation, play and drama you have encountered has been designed by you to find yourself.  It’s very beautiful really.

When you awaken and become lucid within your dreams and you begin to consciously create, you begin to learn how powerful you really are and with that knowledge can come both joy and fear.  Find the love in the knowledge of your own power and you will find the greatest gifts of your existence.  Receive the love and blessings always intended for you.  Keep close to Source and put nothing between you and It and watch the way your dream unfolds differently.

Seek the deeper understanding always and trust that it is, in fact, within you.  This will be particularly important as we move into our ever changing lives with intent and purpose.  You are the Consciousness behind the light you emanate in this world and your Consciousness is never limited by time, space nor distance.  Consciousness never dies so ultimately, nothing in this dream can really hurt you but you.

Enjoy the entertaining aspects of the dream and keep it all in perspective with an intent to view the positive nature of everything.  Even pain can bring positive learning for you.  Trust yourselves to find your answers.  You will find them.  Have faith in yourselves and believe in yourselves without question.  Seek always the love from within you and to emanate that in your lives every day and you’ll find yourself surrounded by amazing beauty and joy to facilitate a greater existence for you.

Thank You

I watched the sunrise this morning
Clear blue sky as far as I could see
Chill of the morning awakens my senses
I feel a softness wash over me
As the rays of the sun light up my world
The absence of fear in my soul
Feels like the sun rising in my own heart
With everything within me that makes me me
I expand beyond the sky and Earth
I reach up into the stars that shine
And I know that I have returned home
Home inside of my own heart
Where Source placed a treasure great
And circumstance awakens it from too long sleeping
It is love that lights this universe
And we radiate like candles in a dark room
We are seen and heard without any words
And so much matters like never before
One shift, one thought that returns to love
And a soul is set free
Free to fly, to explore and to love
My body speaks now filled with light
And I see the sun as if for the first time
And I see my place in this space and time
Smiling I close my eyes and whisper, “Thank you.”

Some Favorite Ayn Rand Quotes...

Different perspectives are something I treasure.  Ayn had an amazing perspective on things...Enjoy!

“Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swaps of the not-quite, the not-yet, and the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists.. it is real.. it is possible.. it's yours.”

― Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

“A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.”

― Ayn Rand

“The truth is not for all men but only for those who seek it.”

― Ayn Rand

“Contradictions do not exist. Whenever you think that you are facing a contradiction, check your premises. You will find that one of them is wrong.”

― Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

“Never think of pain or danger or enemies a moment longer than is necessary to fight them.”

― Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

“That love is reverence, and worship, and glory, and the upward glance. Not a bandage for dirty sores. But they don’t know it. Those who speak of love most promiscuously are the ones who’ve never felt it. They make some sort of feeble stew out of sympathy, compassion, contempt, and general indifference, and they call it love. Once you’ve felt what it means to love as you and I know it – the total passion for the total height – you’re incapable of anything less.”

― Ayn Rand

“There’s nothing as significant as a human face. Nor as eloquent. We can never really know another person, except by our first glance at him. Because, in that glance, we know everything. Even thought we’re not always wise enough to unravel the knowledge.”

― Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead

Disengage from the Fear Machines

Lately, I find myself incredibly frustrated by the fear machine rising now in every faction. Its so subtle but if you dig deep you see how it has permeated everything. I cannot engage in stirring up the fear and presenting the shock and horror in this world - it exists and in great abundance. Religion has no safe harbor. Politics and laws have no safe harbor. Media provides no escape. Even water cooler conversation is rife with fear, worry, hatred and mistrust. I could jump on the band wagon of let it all fall apart - believe me that's where I lean just now but then something else occurs to me...with all of these mini greed factions hiding in religion, hiding behind carefully crafted words so artfully portrayed by every other faction to strum our heart strings I find there isn't much left to believe in. We cannot stand idly by and its so damn hard to know the real truth when you're looking out into the world with jaded perceptions shaped by the very things that created this mess. I could complain and get angry, I could instigate riots and revolts but if I did, what better option could I proffer? Fixing something so horribly broken with more of the broken same thoughts does not seem like an answer to me. Maybe I'm naieve to think as I do and maybe I'm just too uneducated to have any answers. The only thing that I'm certain of is that we are by far better than this and yet we act like lifeless, limbless and spineless creatures crawling in the mud sometimes and it makes me want to cry. But I can't bring myself to do that either. I cannot stand behind any of the existing factions so I'll do the only thing I have the power to do and change how I view it. I'll change how I interact with it. I'll work harder to show this world more love and light. I'll learn to breathe slowly, think more clearly and act only on the truth...and I can't know the truth from listening to anyone else...only what is in my heart. So, I'll go within and seek to understand why, why we tear each other part, why we seek to destroy this beautiful world with such thoughtless abandon...there must be a reason.

A Favorite Quote from the Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

"There is no need to blame your parents or any one who abused you in your life, including you. But it is time to stop the abuse. It is time to free yourself of the tyranny of the Judge by changing the foundation of your own agreements. It is time to be free from the role of the victim. The real you is still a little child who never grew up. Sometimes that little child comes out when you are having fun or playing, when you feel happy, when you are painting, or writing poetry, or playing the piano, or expressing yourself in some way. These are the happiest moments of your life--when the real you comes out, when you don't care about the past and you don't worry about the future, you are childlike..."

"The freedom we are looking for is the freedom to be ourselves, to express ourselves. But if we look at our lives we will see that most of the time we do things just to please others, just to be accepted by others, rather than living our lives to please ourselves. That is what happened to our freedom. And we see in our society and all the societies around the world, that for every thousand people, nine hundred and ninety-nine are completely domesticated. The worst part is that most of us are not aware we are not free. There is something inside that whispers to us that we are not free, but we do not understand what it is, and why we are not free..."

=============================
My inspired commentary from these words: I am free. Your words intended to harm, oppress, destroy and hurt are a waste of your breath, energy and my time. I no longer believe the lies you told yourself, the lies you told me and the lies you tell the world - only the truth. Thank God above for freedom. Let yourselves be free from the judges and abusers by refusing to let them continue to abuse you by continually telling your stories of woe. Those grand illusions of woe retold over and over just give all your power over to the abusers and judges. Stop it. There is no need to extract from others sympathy for the beautiful light you already have inside of you. That love and energy are yours to create at any time you choose. So choose that instead of harboring anger, blame and vengeance and you will know freedom. I am free. Blessings dear souls and so much love and light to you! Thank you Don Miguel Ruiz for your beautiful and timeless wisdom!

Wisdom from The Warrior of The Light

I wanted to share with you some of my favorite quotes from Paulo Coelho, The Warrior of Light.  Read these again and again and again until they sink in deep dear souls.  Have faith in yourselves and the greatest self-love you can possibly imagine.  Everything you do and think as well as say, matters.  The Spirit of Light is always watching and does see all.

A sword not last very long, but the Warrior of the Light must.

That is why he never allows himself to be deceived by his own abilities and therefore avoids being taken by surprise.  He gives each thing the value it deserves.  Often, when the Warrior is pondering grave matters, the devil whispers in his ear:  “Don’t worry about that, it’s not important.”  At others, when he is faced by the banalities, the devil says to him:  “You should pour all your energies into resolving this situation.”  The Warrior does not listen to what the devil is telling him: he is the master of his sword.

A Warrior of the Light is always vigilant.

He does not ask anyone else for permission to wield his sword; he simply takes it in his hands.  Nor does he waste time explaining his actions:  faithful to God’s decisions, he gives his answer in what he does.  He looks to either side of him and identifies his friends.  He looks behind him and identifies his opponents.  He is implacable with treachery, but he does not seek revenge; he merely drives away the enemies of his life, never fighting with them any longer than is necessary.  A Warrior does not try to appear one way or the other, he simply is.

A Warrior does not keep company with those who wish to harm him.  Nor is he seen in the company of those who want to “console” him.

He avoids anyone who is only by his side in the event of a defeat: these false friends want to prove that weakness is rewarded.  They always bring him bad news.  They always try to destroy the Warrior’s confidence, all under the cloak of “solidarity.”  When they see him wounded, they dissolve in tears, but, in their heart, they are happy because the Warrior has lost a battle.  They do not understand that this is part of the fight.  The true companions of a Warrior are beside him always, during the difficult times and the easy times.

At the beginning of his struggle, the Warrior of the Light stated: “I have dreams.”

After some years, he realizes that it is actually possible to reach his goal; he knows that he will be rewarded.  At that moment, he feels sad.  He knows about other people’s unhappiness, about the loneliness and frustration experienced by so much of humanity, and he does not believe that he deserves what he is about to receive.  His angel whispers:  “Give it all up.”  The Warrior kneels down and offers God his conquests.  That act of surrender forces the Warrior to stop asking foolish questions and helps him to overcome his feelings of guilt.

Each Warrior of the Light contains within him the spark of God.

His destiny is to be with other Warriors, but sometimes he will need to practice the art of the sword alone this is why:  when he is apart from his companions, he behaves like a star.  He lights up his allotted part of the Universe and tries to point out galaxies and worlds to all those who gaze up at the sky.  The Warrior’s persistence will soon be rewarded.  Gradually, other Warriors approach, and they join together to form constellations, each with their own symbols and mysteries.

Enemy Within

It's amazing to me to see all of the misguided, self-righteous indignation out in this world over nothing but illusion.  It's even more amazing to see very troubled souls out their claiming to do God's work while shredding and attempting to destroy individuals certain souls have decided are bad or wrong.  The thing is, Source sees every single thing every single soul does....every single thought souls think...every lie, every blow thrown, every injury inflicted with malicious intent and every piece of destruction in the wake of everyone of these very hurtful and misguided souls.  God needs no man to do His bidding.  God appoints no man as judge, jury and persecutor of souls.  Only misguided tragically wounded souls assume such a role that seeks to prevent free will and destroy love through fear, witch hunts and the weaving of grandiose illusions of enemies stemming from the the darkness and wounds in their own hearts.
If any soul wishes to engage in a truly good battle and one really worthy of its efforts, battle the enemy within  -- the one that sees only enemies, attack and strife without. Your judgements of this world and the individuals in it are not needed. Your discernment within self, is required. Seek to understand the chasm of difference between these two options. Learn to see true love and light for what it is instead of seeing your own darkness projected out into this world. Understand cause and effect in your own life before fixating on others in this planet.  Only then can you bring about true right action, right thought and positive change in this world which will ultimately bring a soul closer to Source, true love and light.  Change starts within the self. ~Blessings of infinite love, light and healing to every soul on this planet.

Perspective is Everything

Perspective is everything, I thought as I drove through the dark.  The thought didn’t really coalesce fully until I sat at a red light and noticed how beautiful that red light looked through thousands of rain drops falling on my windshield.  The feelings that gave birth to those thoughts began a few moments before when my daughter Samantha and I walked out of the store.  It was dark and crispy cold out and the rain began to fall…a beautiful and gentle rain.  I looked at her and she looked at me and we started laughing together dodging rain drops as we made our way through the parking lot to my truck.  I watched in awe at how much this baby child has grown.  I was thinking this was one of the last times I’d be giggling with an 8 year old child of mine.  This was my youngest and she’s almost 9 (she reminds me now often).   We had only one more stop to make and she was searching for her little red umbrella in the back seat.  She had on these little polka dot leggings and a black pea coat she swiped from her older sister earlier in the week.  She said she liked it because it reminded her of my coat.  She was just adorable dodging rain drops while holding her umbrella.  I don’t think I ever noticed the rain before as I did in that moment or her, my beautiful little girl who is growing up so fast.

Time rippled again in front of my eyes as it has so many times these past many months and I went about my tasks but was weirdly disconnected and yet reconnected at the same time.  I kept getting lost in the scenery like I was seeing it for the first time.  We finished our business and headed back out into the rain.  The bare naked trees glistening in the parking lot lights held my attention for what seemed like an eternity.  “Come on mommy.  You’re getting all wet,” Samantha said.  I looked at her and laughed feeling very much like a child myself.  All around us was a cacophony of angry and impatient holiday shoppers trying to park, honking horns and even shouting.  But that didn’t matter in the slightest to me.  No commentary had I on the negative events transpiring around us.  For me, the entire world went away when I looked into my little girl’s beautiful blue eyes.  We both looked up at the rain again commenting on how amazing the drops looked when they caught the light on their way down.   We giggled on the way home as she told me that if rain was God crying, then snow must be angel poop.  There is just nothing sacred to an eight year old.  I’m still laughing at her logic.  Yes, perspective IS everything.

Red Balloon

What person or situation on this Earth has hurt you the most? Are you ready and willing to be free of the pain of it? Just decide to forgive self for allowing pain to occur and then forgive any other persons involved.  Please understand that this concept does not mean that you reconcile with the people involved and forgiveness means you allow them back into your life to hurt if you have discerned this is not appropriate for you. Quite the contrary. You must love self enough to hold appropriate boundaries with those who have hurt you. If you continue to carry the wounds and the pain, it will be so very difficult for you to grow in this life and find true love and happiness within you. Forgive them not for their sake but for your own in order that you free yourself from the burden of anger and wounding. Know that all interactions have purpose, even painful ones. Seek higher understanding of what transpired, focus on what YOU may have learned about you.  Try to understand that holding pain and negativity to you will always have an undesired energetic consequence in that what you hold focus on, you will draw to you. If you don't like how that sounds or you do not want that, please consider reading yourself to fully let go.

ACTION:  Take a deep breath and say these words as often as you need to focusing on the person or persons involved in a scene or event that wounded you: "I forgive you, I forgive me on this plane and all others through all time and all dimensions and I now let this go. If you need a visual to reinforce your actions then imagine taking all your pain and anger from the situation, individual or individuals and stuffing that anger and pain into a big bright red helium balloon. Once you are certain it is full, breathe in deep and see yourself tying a string around the bottom to keep anything from coming out of the balloon, hold the string in your hand and as you visualize the string and the balloon, know that you alone have the power to hold the string or to let it go.  Now, let it go. As you watch the balloon gently float away, allow your pain, anger and sadness to be completely transformed into peace, love and serenity.  Even if you don't feel it right away, try to imagine these sensations.

We cannot fix the negative effects in our lives if we do not do the work to get at the causes...knowing we cannot control others and we can only control what we do, say, think and feel will help us resolve negative effects much more constructively.  Be willing.  Be courageous.  You can do this. ~blessings of love, light and healing!

Return to Life

There is an interesting dichotomy
Of understanding
Where you are both isolated
And yet connected all at once
The ways of man trapped in illusion
The myriad ways in which we hold our own keys to freedom
And yet we cannot see what is right inside of us
We are the pathway home
We are what we are waiting for
If only we knew
We could sit back and join our love with others
In infinite support and generation of light
I open my arms, my heart and my mind
And I pray…I pray that we become better able
To gently awaken sleeping dreamers
To their own divine creations of light
Whisper softly, return to love
Return to life

Dream Your Dreams

I have walked the edges of shadow lands
Stood at the bridge between worlds many times
And each time I return just a little wiser
I grow in my own light, just a little brighter
I am a time traveler and a dreamer of dreams
I live and breathe right beside you smiling
Life incarnate can be hard sometimes
It can often seem to tear at your heart
But that's only the illusion waving a flag in your face
Dig deeper and reach higher dear souls
There is so much more to life than you know
Reach all the way in
Feel everything without
Embrace the light in its myriad facets
Drink in the depths of the emotion in this plane
Hear the voices and whispers through time
Dance with the images and sing haunting melodies
Know without a doubt that everything matters
Know without a doubt your love never leaves you
Understand you're beautiful extension from Source
Walk upright and look for your silver linings
Wonders and miracles great do await you
You need only consent to seeking the path
Walk with much courage, faith and self-love
Know that you are the eternal and infinite
Breathe in the peace and sparkling energy of existence
Journey on dear souls, dream your dreams

The Angel Sighs

No one understands
The bowels of hell like an angel
They'll walk right into the center
Without even a care
To save one soul screaming for help
And its sad when that soul
Cries so terrified in the darkness
The angel brings them up and out
At long last into the light of day
And that poor soul still screams
With their eyes closed so tightly
Clawing and flailing for anything to grab hold of
And the angel whispers, "Awaken dear soul"
"You are as you've always been, free"
But the soul can't hear over his own cries of despiar
And the angel whispers yet again, "Just open your eyes"
"Finally, now you can see here in the light"
And the soul flails even more in a panic
Clawing at the air and anything within reach
And the angel sighs seeing the choices there made
And steps out of the soul's reach
Leaving him in God's hands
Sorrow strikes but a moment
For there are other souls in need
And the angel prays hard and long
And sends nothing but love and light

Inspired by all those souls over many years who simply said "open your eyes and see" when out of fear I merely wished to squeeze my eyes shut knowing only darkness and feeling afraid of the light.  I'm grateful for those angels incarnate and dedicate this piece to everyone of them.  Now I can see.  Thank you. :)
