Wisdom from The Warrior of The Light

I wanted to share with you some of my favorite quotes from Paulo Coelho, The Warrior of Light.  Read these again and again and again until they sink in deep dear souls.  Have faith in yourselves and the greatest self-love you can possibly imagine.  Everything you do and think as well as say, matters.  The Spirit of Light is always watching and does see all.

A sword not last very long, but the Warrior of the Light must.

That is why he never allows himself to be deceived by his own abilities and therefore avoids being taken by surprise.  He gives each thing the value it deserves.  Often, when the Warrior is pondering grave matters, the devil whispers in his ear:  “Don’t worry about that, it’s not important.”  At others, when he is faced by the banalities, the devil says to him:  “You should pour all your energies into resolving this situation.”  The Warrior does not listen to what the devil is telling him: he is the master of his sword.

A Warrior of the Light is always vigilant.

He does not ask anyone else for permission to wield his sword; he simply takes it in his hands.  Nor does he waste time explaining his actions:  faithful to God’s decisions, he gives his answer in what he does.  He looks to either side of him and identifies his friends.  He looks behind him and identifies his opponents.  He is implacable with treachery, but he does not seek revenge; he merely drives away the enemies of his life, never fighting with them any longer than is necessary.  A Warrior does not try to appear one way or the other, he simply is.

A Warrior does not keep company with those who wish to harm him.  Nor is he seen in the company of those who want to “console” him.

He avoids anyone who is only by his side in the event of a defeat: these false friends want to prove that weakness is rewarded.  They always bring him bad news.  They always try to destroy the Warrior’s confidence, all under the cloak of “solidarity.”  When they see him wounded, they dissolve in tears, but, in their heart, they are happy because the Warrior has lost a battle.  They do not understand that this is part of the fight.  The true companions of a Warrior are beside him always, during the difficult times and the easy times.

At the beginning of his struggle, the Warrior of the Light stated: “I have dreams.”

After some years, he realizes that it is actually possible to reach his goal; he knows that he will be rewarded.  At that moment, he feels sad.  He knows about other people’s unhappiness, about the loneliness and frustration experienced by so much of humanity, and he does not believe that he deserves what he is about to receive.  His angel whispers:  “Give it all up.”  The Warrior kneels down and offers God his conquests.  That act of surrender forces the Warrior to stop asking foolish questions and helps him to overcome his feelings of guilt.

Each Warrior of the Light contains within him the spark of God.

His destiny is to be with other Warriors, but sometimes he will need to practice the art of the sword alone this is why:  when he is apart from his companions, he behaves like a star.  He lights up his allotted part of the Universe and tries to point out galaxies and worlds to all those who gaze up at the sky.  The Warrior’s persistence will soon be rewarded.  Gradually, other Warriors approach, and they join together to form constellations, each with their own symbols and mysteries.

Enemy Within

It's amazing to me to see all of the misguided, self-righteous indignation out in this world over nothing but illusion.  It's even more amazing to see very troubled souls out their claiming to do God's work while shredding and attempting to destroy individuals certain souls have decided are bad or wrong.  The thing is, Source sees every single thing every single soul does....every single thought souls think...every lie, every blow thrown, every injury inflicted with malicious intent and every piece of destruction in the wake of everyone of these very hurtful and misguided souls.  God needs no man to do His bidding.  God appoints no man as judge, jury and persecutor of souls.  Only misguided tragically wounded souls assume such a role that seeks to prevent free will and destroy love through fear, witch hunts and the weaving of grandiose illusions of enemies stemming from the the darkness and wounds in their own hearts.
If any soul wishes to engage in a truly good battle and one really worthy of its efforts, battle the enemy within  -- the one that sees only enemies, attack and strife without. Your judgements of this world and the individuals in it are not needed. Your discernment within self, is required. Seek to understand the chasm of difference between these two options. Learn to see true love and light for what it is instead of seeing your own darkness projected out into this world. Understand cause and effect in your own life before fixating on others in this planet.  Only then can you bring about true right action, right thought and positive change in this world which will ultimately bring a soul closer to Source, true love and light.  Change starts within the self. ~Blessings of infinite love, light and healing to every soul on this planet.

Perspective is Everything

Perspective is everything, I thought as I drove through the dark.  The thought didn’t really coalesce fully until I sat at a red light and noticed how beautiful that red light looked through thousands of rain drops falling on my windshield.  The feelings that gave birth to those thoughts began a few moments before when my daughter Samantha and I walked out of the store.  It was dark and crispy cold out and the rain began to fall…a beautiful and gentle rain.  I looked at her and she looked at me and we started laughing together dodging rain drops as we made our way through the parking lot to my truck.  I watched in awe at how much this baby child has grown.  I was thinking this was one of the last times I’d be giggling with an 8 year old child of mine.  This was my youngest and she’s almost 9 (she reminds me now often).   We had only one more stop to make and she was searching for her little red umbrella in the back seat.  She had on these little polka dot leggings and a black pea coat she swiped from her older sister earlier in the week.  She said she liked it because it reminded her of my coat.  She was just adorable dodging rain drops while holding her umbrella.  I don’t think I ever noticed the rain before as I did in that moment or her, my beautiful little girl who is growing up so fast.

Time rippled again in front of my eyes as it has so many times these past many months and I went about my tasks but was weirdly disconnected and yet reconnected at the same time.  I kept getting lost in the scenery like I was seeing it for the first time.  We finished our business and headed back out into the rain.  The bare naked trees glistening in the parking lot lights held my attention for what seemed like an eternity.  “Come on mommy.  You’re getting all wet,” Samantha said.  I looked at her and laughed feeling very much like a child myself.  All around us was a cacophony of angry and impatient holiday shoppers trying to park, honking horns and even shouting.  But that didn’t matter in the slightest to me.  No commentary had I on the negative events transpiring around us.  For me, the entire world went away when I looked into my little girl’s beautiful blue eyes.  We both looked up at the rain again commenting on how amazing the drops looked when they caught the light on their way down.   We giggled on the way home as she told me that if rain was God crying, then snow must be angel poop.  There is just nothing sacred to an eight year old.  I’m still laughing at her logic.  Yes, perspective IS everything.

Red Balloon

What person or situation on this Earth has hurt you the most? Are you ready and willing to be free of the pain of it? Just decide to forgive self for allowing pain to occur and then forgive any other persons involved.  Please understand that this concept does not mean that you reconcile with the people involved and forgiveness means you allow them back into your life to hurt if you have discerned this is not appropriate for you. Quite the contrary. You must love self enough to hold appropriate boundaries with those who have hurt you. If you continue to carry the wounds and the pain, it will be so very difficult for you to grow in this life and find true love and happiness within you. Forgive them not for their sake but for your own in order that you free yourself from the burden of anger and wounding. Know that all interactions have purpose, even painful ones. Seek higher understanding of what transpired, focus on what YOU may have learned about you.  Try to understand that holding pain and negativity to you will always have an undesired energetic consequence in that what you hold focus on, you will draw to you. If you don't like how that sounds or you do not want that, please consider reading yourself to fully let go.

ACTION:  Take a deep breath and say these words as often as you need to focusing on the person or persons involved in a scene or event that wounded you: "I forgive you, I forgive me on this plane and all others through all time and all dimensions and I now let this go. If you need a visual to reinforce your actions then imagine taking all your pain and anger from the situation, individual or individuals and stuffing that anger and pain into a big bright red helium balloon. Once you are certain it is full, breathe in deep and see yourself tying a string around the bottom to keep anything from coming out of the balloon, hold the string in your hand and as you visualize the string and the balloon, know that you alone have the power to hold the string or to let it go.  Now, let it go. As you watch the balloon gently float away, allow your pain, anger and sadness to be completely transformed into peace, love and serenity.  Even if you don't feel it right away, try to imagine these sensations.

We cannot fix the negative effects in our lives if we do not do the work to get at the causes...knowing we cannot control others and we can only control what we do, say, think and feel will help us resolve negative effects much more constructively.  Be willing.  Be courageous.  You can do this. ~blessings of love, light and healing!

Return to Life

There is an interesting dichotomy
Of understanding
Where you are both isolated
And yet connected all at once
The ways of man trapped in illusion
The myriad ways in which we hold our own keys to freedom
And yet we cannot see what is right inside of us
We are the pathway home
We are what we are waiting for
If only we knew
We could sit back and join our love with others
In infinite support and generation of light
I open my arms, my heart and my mind
And I pray…I pray that we become better able
To gently awaken sleeping dreamers
To their own divine creations of light
Whisper softly, return to love
Return to life

Dream Your Dreams

I have walked the edges of shadow lands
Stood at the bridge between worlds many times
And each time I return just a little wiser
I grow in my own light, just a little brighter
I am a time traveler and a dreamer of dreams
I live and breathe right beside you smiling
Life incarnate can be hard sometimes
It can often seem to tear at your heart
But that's only the illusion waving a flag in your face
Dig deeper and reach higher dear souls
There is so much more to life than you know
Reach all the way in
Feel everything without
Embrace the light in its myriad facets
Drink in the depths of the emotion in this plane
Hear the voices and whispers through time
Dance with the images and sing haunting melodies
Know without a doubt that everything matters
Know without a doubt your love never leaves you
Understand you're beautiful extension from Source
Walk upright and look for your silver linings
Wonders and miracles great do await you
You need only consent to seeking the path
Walk with much courage, faith and self-love
Know that you are the eternal and infinite
Breathe in the peace and sparkling energy of existence
Journey on dear souls, dream your dreams

The Angel Sighs

No one understands
The bowels of hell like an angel
They'll walk right into the center
Without even a care
To save one soul screaming for help
And its sad when that soul
Cries so terrified in the darkness
The angel brings them up and out
At long last into the light of day
And that poor soul still screams
With their eyes closed so tightly
Clawing and flailing for anything to grab hold of
And the angel whispers, "Awaken dear soul"
"You are as you've always been, free"
But the soul can't hear over his own cries of despiar
And the angel whispers yet again, "Just open your eyes"
"Finally, now you can see here in the light"
And the soul flails even more in a panic
Clawing at the air and anything within reach
And the angel sighs seeing the choices there made
And steps out of the soul's reach
Leaving him in God's hands
Sorrow strikes but a moment
For there are other souls in need
And the angel prays hard and long
And sends nothing but love and light

Inspired by all those souls over many years who simply said "open your eyes and see" when out of fear I merely wished to squeeze my eyes shut knowing only darkness and feeling afraid of the light.  I'm grateful for those angels incarnate and dedicate this piece to everyone of them.  Now I can see.  Thank you. :)
